It Isn’t Fair

They say life isn’t fair – But for those who
don’t care – They are willing to share –
With nothing to spare –

I’m a cook without a book – A cuisine
often nice – But never to dare – The same
recipe twice –

Gardens abound my simple chateau –
Bestowing with joy as they continue to
grow – Tomatoes are slow – Herbs I do
know – I can’t speak French – But I
read Figaro –

My guitar stands afar – But this remains
true – Life’s chords still ring clear –
There are more than a few –

They say life isn’t fair – But for those who
don’t care – They are willing to share –
With nothing to spare –

I can’t drive a train – But I can fly a
plane – Over mountains, still shore,
frivolous terrain –

When the Net was a bet – With HTML
and Excel – I was one of the first – To
cast the first spell –

They say life isn’t fair – But for those who
don’t care – They are willing to share –
With nothing to spare –

Expect little from life they said callous
and cold – Expect little in life the
academics foretold – Expect little from
life some even cajoled – Expect little
in life is a future untold –

But for all I have learned through trial
and error – And for those who will listen
I am eager to share – Spare lust,
distrust, greed, despair – For it is only
through love that life will serve fare –

                                                               Châz
