The AI society is not coming. It is here. It will be fast, efficient, and profoundly lonely for those who resist. It will solve problems and optimise our lives with abundance and precision. But, It cannot solve the problem of human fear. It cannot solve the problem of human resistance to change. It cannot teach us how to face our own mortality, or how to be vulnerable while extending ourselves to strangers in those moments when it most matters.
Only we can do that.
Only we can prepare one another.
The emerging society will be defined not by what our machines can do, but by what human beings are willing to offer one another. Not material recognition. Not efficiency. Not through threats founded in status or power; but with the presence of kindness, and the courage to meet fear and uncertainty with grace and humility.
This will come from a new clarion call. Not from institutions or technology, and certainly not from government policy. But, from within the ranks of humanity itself. From a new legion of ordinary people who want to explore their humanity, and are willing to help others do the same.
