By now all meaningful remnants of Christmas past have been removed from much of our collective memory. Drugs and illegal migrants are pouring across our southern border and we are at war almost everywhere, supporting more than 45 armed conflicts which includes a proxy war with Russia in the Ukraine and Eastern Europe. Israel is destroying Gaza and Iran may soon join the conflict. The generational African wars of Sudan and its neighbouring states continue, and piracy on the Red Sea presents a serious threat to the entire Mediterranean region. International politics may well result in war everywhere from the Korean Peninsula to Taiwan and the Sea of Japan. And, while America is about to engage in a vicious social and political revolution which could last for generations, we are told that the US economy is strong, growing and vibrant as our government treasury races to print money at a rate greater than there are hours in a day. Soon, little will remain of an extraordinay world culture. But, China waits patiently to pick at the carcus.
Merry Christmas to all –
